Sheetal Paul joined Horn Wright, bringing with her a strong background in civil litigation and insurance defense. Before entering her current practice areas, Ms. Paul represented national insurance carriers in both court and arbitration proceedings, where she managed a wide range of complex matters. She gained significant experience conducting examinations under oath of claimants and medical providers, developing a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze claims with precision. Through this work, she built a foundation in litigation strategy, client counseling, and case preparation that continues to serve her clients well today.
Since joining Horn Wright, Ms. Paul has expanded her practice to include Civil Rights, Personal Injury, and Surrogate’s Court matters, offering clients informed and compassionate representation across diverse legal areas. Her work in these areas reflects a deepened commitment to advocating for individuals facing challenging legal circumstances, whether navigating the aftermath of a personal injury, asserting constitutional protections, or resolving sensitive estate and probate matters. Ms. Paul approaches each case with rigorous attention to detail, strategic foresight, and a personalized approach tailored to the unique needs of her clients.
Ms. Paul earned her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and completed her undergraduate degree at SUNY College at Old Westbury. During law school, she gained practical experience as a judicial extern for the Honorable Margaret C. Reilly at Nassau County Surrogates Court, where she observed proceedings and supported the drafting of judicial opinions. She also served as an intern in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office within the litigation bureau, deepening her understanding of public sector legal practice and courtroom advocacy. Upon graduation, Ms. Paul received the Pro Bono Service Award in recognition of her dedication to serving underserved communities and contributing her time to meaningful causes.
In addition to her professional work, Ms. Paul brings cultural and linguistic diversity to her practice. She speaks Punjabi fluently, which allows her to communicate effectively with a broader range of clients and communities. Her ability to connect with individuals across languages and backgrounds underscores her commitment to accessible and inclusive representation.
